I am delighted that the Ananda College Model United Nations Association has taken the initiative to hold a simulated summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. SAARC is an important organization that fosters friendship and cooperation between South Asian countries. By holding a simulation of this sort, our school children not only learn the ropes of International diplomacy; but also learn to appreciate the important role played by SAARC in the region.
Our vision is to nurture future diplomats who will represent their countries at regional and global level to solve problems peacefully intellectually. To this end, I am grateful to Ananda College Model United Nations Association for their bold initiative.
I wish all the young diplomats good luck for a successful summit.
